Semicharmed Kind of LIfe

When we were preparing to move to Bakersfield Billy's mother encouraged us to sell Billy's truck. She offered us Billy's Dad's truck since it was just sitting in the garage not being used. We were happy to get out from under the car payment so we did that. Up until recently we had the two vehicles, the Honda and the Ford F150. This morning I wanted to Christmas shop and Billy had to work so we were going to drive separate vehicles. Billy started toward the truck and stopped in his tracks. You've got it folks, the truck was GONE! Another vehicle stolen! Not even three months have gone by since the Honda was taken and now this. Just a few weeks from Christmas our second vehicle was stolen (probably by the same criminals who took the Honda).

Sorry FPU fans, I just am not sure that this stuff works, every time we get going on paying down our debt something happens and we are set back in a major way. How are people supposed to get ahead of the bills when more keep stacking up? We are probably going to have to make it work with just one car. I have school next semester again and it is going to be a huge headache, but we will have to make due with what we have. PS, the neighborhood here is not bad! We feel like it is a relatively safe place. It certainly feels safer than our Portland digs, but it turns out that we were very wrong where auto theft is concerned. Unfortunately we will not be able to move since we have been given a break on the rent by a church member and are unlikely to find another deal like this one.

Little Photographer

Jacob took this picture all by himself! He is so much fun sometimes (and surprising). Too bad he couldn't be in the picture, that would have been cute.

Tis the Season

I have been having a rough go of things lately. Stressed from school, the kids have been ill and I have been missing my family for the holidays. Things are beginning to look up. Finals are upon me and will be over soon. The best news of all? My parents are going to come to Bakersfield and whisk us away for a few days down near Palm Springs. I am very happy to be with them and at the same time to be getting away! Yes, things are definitely looking up! Now all we need is for Jayda to ditch this hacking cough and we will be awesome.
