Baffle Me

Jacob is 17 months old. Every day he says something crazy and funny and I think to myself "is he smart or is it just me being proud" because I have no idea. Just the other day we were all sitting in our bedroom and Billy was on the computer. We were watching football moments online (I really don't know how I got sucked into that) and some poor schmo got hit really badly. We, of course, reacted in laughter. There we were all three of us laughing at this poor guy who probably is still feeling that hit, while Billy is playing the clip over and over agian. Finally when we were all settling down Jacob says "Ah, thats funny!" I kid you not! Billy turned around and asked me if he really said that and I said he has been saying it for a while now. The wierd thing is he uses it appropriately! He is the smartest kid I have ever raised!

Jacob's shots

We were really grearing up for Jacobs "week-o-shots" We had no idea how many he was going to have to get on Teusday, then he was getting one on Wednesday. Needless to say, we were nervous! It turned out that he only needed 2 shots at the travel clinic (which he handled rather well only crying for a few minutes). Wednesday's shot, however, was the easiest one he had ever gotten, he didn't even cry! He fussed for like 30 seconds and then went on looking at the nurse with his little evil eye. I told him to say "thank you" which he did then promptly forgot what we had been doing there in the first place! He ran down the hall as we were leaving like nothing had ever happened. Don't you just love kids? I hope travelling with him will be the same way. We are expecting a nightmare, maybe we will get a pleasant suprise, and maybe not.

photos

You know how you go in to get your license (or passport) and you have to get a picture taken in front of the least flattering backdrop they could find? I wish I would have thought about scanning my passport photo to my blog, I actually like my picture! I wish I could use it for more things than just my passport! I would have it as my picture for my blog, my myspace I would have it on flickr...

I have only one other time been happy with the outcome of an identification picture. My first license had a cute pic, but of course I was young and had great skin, and then I lost it like six months later and started the apparent lifetime of horrible license photos. My most recent picture (the picture wasn't the only habbit I picked up at that time, I also loose my license every couple of years) makes me look like I have the flu, I am wearing a lime-green shirt, I don't know why, and I am standing against a light blue background! I am rediculous. Please, tell me about your horrbile, or not-so-horrible ID pictures! I know you've got em!
