My cousin Angela just had twin babies this week at OHSU. They are both boys who are under 3lbs. Billy and I have not had a chance to go visit yet, but we are going out there today to see her and the new tiny ones. They could be in the hospital for a few months, but they are both breathing on their own, so that is great for such little babies!

Also on my agenda today:
going to the bank
the dry cleaners
the book store
and then I will probably squeeze in a nap!

(Jacob is with my parents for the weekend and we had to get the house all cleaned up for bookclub that met here last night, we miss you Aimee)

So much has happened in the recent past! The most immediate thing being the passing of Billy's father. He passed very peacefully on February 9Th. We flew down to Bakersfield that day and were able to stay there until the next Sunday. It was a blessing that we were able to stay with family so long and give/take comfort from them. Bill was only 62 years old, he had a stroke and was very ill toward the end. Billy was able to go down to California just the weekend before to say goodbye and to spend some final time with him. This is obviously a huge event in our lives and is mixed with both sorrow and joy.

The next event was the birthday of our little Jacob. He turned 2 and we had a little party for him. He is growing into a very polite and sweet young man (except when he throws a temper tantrum). A few of his favorite things to say are:

"I Love Jacob!"

"I watch Incredibles?"

"That's funny"

"I go see Kezia"

"You want to watch Incredibles?"

"You look preddy Mommy"
(he really says that, but it is more of my favorite thing he says)

He can count to 20 and he puts 4-5 words together to make sentences. This sounds like a cool thing, but I miss the time when I was not asked to put in the Incredibles 50 times a day. He actually can put in the DVD and turn the thing on himself, but he scratches them. Since I am working full time I don't get to see him as often as I would like to, but it sure helps me to appreciate the time I have with him all the more. But please excuse me if I still am hard on him, he is still a toddler after all! One other shortfall, we forgot to take pictures at his birthday party! We do have some video, but you probably won't be seeing any of that any time soon.
